General Notes: Husband - Simon Brinker
He was educated in the common schools of his native place, and learned the carpenter’s trade. During the war of the rebellion he promptly responded to the call for volunteers, enlisting August 29, 1861, in the Eleventh Pennsylvania Volunteers, under Colonel Coulter, serving until January 14, 1865. Mr. Brinker participated in many battles, and was an intrepid, valiant soldier. In politics he accorded with the principles of the Republican party, and was a member of the Lutheran church.
