General Notes: Husband - John F. Bowman
He was the son of a farmer residing on Pequea creek near Strasburg, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He was brought up as a millwright, but in 1809 removed to Halifax, where he was engaged in mercantile business until 1830; he then went to Millersburg, and was there a successful merchant until his death.
He was interred the old Methodist graveyard at Millersburg, Dauphin County but his remains were later removed to Oak Hill cemetery.
