General Notes: Husband - Hiram Boucher
He was born in Somerset County, and came to Ligonier Valley, Westmoreland County, with his parents in 1833. He alone among his brothers remained in Ligonier Valley, Pennsylvania.
He united with the Methodist Episcopal church of Ligonier, and was one of its leading members throughout the remainder of his life. He was especially a potent factor in the Sunday school work of the church, and taught a class of both old and young men for more than a quarter of a century. Few men were more competent for this work than he. Though, like many others in the first half of the 1800s, he had received but a limited education in his youth, yet, being a life-long reader, he became well versed in the Bible, and was familiar with many of the books relating to it, and in this line of thought he had few equals among the laity of his community. He spent his entire life as a farmer in Ligonier Valley, and finally died of bilious fever.
He was a medium-sized, well-built man of great physical strength in his youth and had an abundance of black curly hair which turned gray with advancing years.
