General Notes: Husband - Isaac Huston Borland
He came to Franklin, Pennsylvania, with his parents in 1865. He was educated in the public schools there and learned his trade with Myers Brothers & Humphrey. In 1884 he established a carriage manufactory on South Twelfth street, and carried on busi-ness quite successfully, turning out a good class of work and enjoy-ing rapidly increasing business. He was elected a member of the city council in 1888 and was one of the working members of the Republican party, taking an active interest in its success. [HVC 1890, 836]
