General Notes: Husband - Herbert Milton Booher

Kittanning, Armstrong Co, PA - a contractor and builder

He graduated from the township schools, and then learned the carpenter and building trade in association with his father. When he reached his twenty-first birthday he entered the general contracting business and continued for twenty-nine years, during which period he erected the first steel house in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, and was identified with the construction of many of the larger homes and public buildings in that section, and employed at various times from ten to fifty workers. In 1933 he was elected deputy sheriff under Sheriff Doverspike, and served in that capacity until he became sheriff January 3, 1937.
He was a member of the Baptist Church, a staunch and active Republican, and a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Knights of Malta.
