General Notes: Husband - Karl L. Smith
After completing his early schooling in New Castle, Pennsylvania, he entered the University of Pittsburgh, where he studied pharmacy, and from which he received his degree in 1901. He then returned to New Castle and engaged in business there and at Uniontown, Pennsylvania, for twelve years. From there he went to Woodlawn, Pennsylvania, where he owned the Woodlawn Pharmacy. After his arrival in Butler Mr. Smith was connected with the Main Drug Company store at Main and Jefferson streets for three years. He later became the manager of the Atlas Pharmacy which was located at 202 Center Avenue.
