General Notes: Husband - Thomas Sharp Mitchell
He was born at Elderton, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, and was brought into Jefferson County when a boy. For some time he was employed with Thomas Pain in Perry township, and later established a store at Hamilton, in that township, where he located in pioneer days, continuing to operate it for several years. In 1854 he was elected sheriff of Jefferson county, and served one term of three years.
