The Cramers came to Pennsylvania from New Jersey in the latter part of the eighteenth century; Charles Cramer, with his parents, eleven brothers and two sisters, settling in the Dry Valley [Union County?]. In due time he took unto himself a wife, and four sons and four daughters were born to gladden their home. Of these, Jane was the second.
