General Notes: Husband - Joseph Philips
Joseph Philips, the ancestor of the Philips family of Mercer County, Pennsylvania, came to America in 1755. He was born in 1716, but of his birthplace and parentage nothing is known by his family. In 1775, with his wife and three children, he sailed from Pembrokeshire, South Wales, and made his first settlement in Chester County, Pennsylvania, where he followed the occupation of a weaver.
The Philips family had its origin, as to the American branch, in south Wales, Joseph Philips, with his wife and three children, emigrating from Pembrokeshire to Chester County, Pennsylvania, in 1755.
