General Notes: Husband - John Plough

Being deprived of his mother by death when but two days old, his mother's parents took charge of him for a number of years.
He was educated in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and became a very successful farmer. At the death of his father he became proprietor of the home mansion farm, containing 156 acres. Soon afterward he purchased the adjoining farm, containing 111 acres; he was a thrifty and successful farmer.
He was a Republican though not a politician, and just before his death he was elected assessor of the township. He was a regular attendant of Salem United Brethren Church, near his home.
