General Notes: Husband - James Birchard

---

He lived with his father on the homestead at Beckett, Massachusetts, until 1811, when he and his family, with one horse and wagon, made the trip to Meadville, Crawford county, Pennsylvania. He secured one thousand five hundred acres of land in one tract ten miles north of Meadville, on the ridge east of French Creek Valley. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.

He and his wife, with ten children, came from Becket, MA, and settled in Cambridge township, Crawford County, PA, in 1813.
He and his wife were the parents of fourteen children, ten of whom grew up and came to Crawford County, PA.
