He married in England and in 1875 they came to the United States to live with their daughter Mrs. Friggle, at whose home in Cranberry Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania, they died. He followed mining in England, but lived retired after coming to America. He enjoyed writing and composition. He was a member of the Episcopal Church.
