General Notes: Husband - John Birch

---

He was born in Ireland, but was of Scotch descent. He served twelve years as a soldier in the British Army. In his native country he married and in 1801 they emigrated to America, settling first in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, but later moving to Amwell Township, in Washington County. By trade he was a weaver and during his lifetime it was a fairly profitable one.
