He attended the University at Morgantown, West Virginia, and read medicine at Cleveland, Ohio, where he graduated in 1883. He also attended the Medico-Chirurgical College at Philadelphia, graduating in 1887, and then was engaged in the drug business and the practice of his chosen profession, at Greensboro, Pennsylvania.
