General Notes: Husband - David Blair
He was educated in the local public schools, in the State Normal School at Indiana, at Princeton University, where he did not complete the course, and at Washington and Jefferson College, from which he graduated with the class of 1895, receiving the degree of Bachelor of Arts. After studying law in his father's office, he was admitted to the bar in 1907. He immediately began to practice his profession in association with his father, under the title of Blair & Blair. After his father's death he continued general law practice under his own name. At the same time he was prominent in business circles as an executive of many important enterprises. He was president of the Blair Railroad, also president of the Blair Coal Company, treasurer of the Blair Lumber Company, director of the Indiana Creek Lumber Company, and secretary of the Indiana County Agrlcultural Fair Association.
Mr. Blair was a Republican in political faith and a communicant of the First Presbyterian Church, on whose board of trustees he served. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity and several clubs, including the Princeton Club of New York and of Pennsylvania, the Cosmopolitan Club of Indiana, and the Country Club of Indiana, and the W. & J. Gridiron Club of Washington, Pennsylvania. He was likewise enrolled in the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and in various other organizations. During the Spanish-American War he was captain of Company B, 21st Regiment, N. G. P. During the World War, Mr. Blair was called on for committee service in practically every drive or campaign and always answered the call with his energy, time and money.
