General Notes: Husband - Michael Best
He worked with his father on the home farm until his marriage, then moved to a farm owned by his father. In 1850, the latter being in poor health, he persuaded his son to give up his own home and return to the homestead, which Michael did, continuing until William Best died. Michael bought out the other heirs, and thereafter owned and culti-vated the home farm of one hundred and twen-ty-five acres until his death.
