General Notes: Husband - John M. "Jack" McBride


He was reared and edu-cated in Franklin Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and gave attention to agricultural pursuits from the time he was a boy. His large farm was well adapted to the raising of corn, oats, wheat, hay and potatoes, for which he utilized sev-enty acres, and also to the growing of cat-tle, hogs and sheep.
He and his family belonged to the Presby-terian Church at Muddy Creek, of which he was a trustee. In politics Mr. McBride was a Republican and for many years he took an active part in party councils and public matters in his section. In 1903 he was elected to the office of justice of the peace and was subsequently re-elected.
