General Notes: Husband - John George Blyholder

He was born in Germany and about 1830 came from Stuttgart, near Whittenberg, to the United States. He settled near Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he was employed in farm work by his father-in-law and also by the latter's brother, Frederick Biere.

He was born in Germany, whence he emigrated to Pennsylvania, in 1831, and settled at Greensburg, in Westmoreland County, where he engaged in farming. In 1842 he came to Gilpin township, Armstrong County, and lived as a tenant, and then in 1859 purchased a farm, upon which his son Samuel later resided. He was a Democrat in politics, filled various township offices, and was a member and one of the officers of the Evangelical Lutheran church until his death.
