General Notes: Husband - John Black
He was a sailor for fourteen years, and was under the command of Lord Nelson in the battle of Trafalgar, October 21, 1805, and the scars which he received in that famous struggle were ever afterward visible. He and his wife immigrated to America in 1829, and settled on a farm in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. He was killed by a log falling on him at the raising of a barn for a Mr. Forker, in Cool Spring Township.
