Virgil Duwayne "Bud" Berlin Sr.
Virgil Duwayne "Bud" Berlin Sr., 78, of Cape Coral, Fla., formerly of Pleasantville, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, in a nursing home in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Born Sept. 14, 1925, in Salem, he was the son of Wayne and Goldie Rossman Berlin.
Mr. Berlin retired after an extensive career locally in the lumber, oil and gas industries.
He was a builder and a member of Pleasantville Full Gospel Church.
Mr. Berlin moved with his family in 1978 to Cape Coral, Fla. He was well-known in that community for his kindness and willingness to help those in need.
Surviving are his wife, Roxanne Long Berlin; seven children, Virgil Duwayne Berlin Jr. and wife, Joyce, of Pleasantville, Gayle Berlin Ul and husband, Thomas, of Waterford, Albert Daniel Berlin and wife, Juanita, of Oil City, Dennis Berlin and wife, Cecile, of Orlando, Fla., Brenda Lee Berlin of Naples, Fla., Elizabeth Berlin Kerr and husband, John, of Titusville, and Belinda Berlin of Cape Coral, Fla.; and more than 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He also is survived by two brothers, Paul Berlin and Raymond Berlin, both of Bradford; and four sisters, Maxine Neely of Knox, Bonnie Titus of Odessa, Fla., Donna Uhl of Bradford and Barbara Smith of Derrick City.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Berlin was preceded in death by his former wife, Shirley Fae Bugbee; a sister, Norma O'Neil; and a brother, Gerald Berlin.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Full Gospel Church, 16912 Jerusalem Corners Road, Pleasantville.
Another memorial service will be held Monday in St. Petersburg, Fla.
