General Notes: Husband - George Trimble Kinter
He died from the effects of a wound received during his military service in the Civil war. On Feb. 24, 1864, he enlisted at Indiana, Pennsylvania, in Company K, 53d Pennsylvania Veteran Volunteers, Infantry, under Capt. D. B. Wineland and Col. John R. Brooks (later major general), attached to Barlow's Division, 2d Corps, Army of the Potomac, and took part in all the engagements of his command to the close of the war, including Cold Harbor, Spottsylvania Court House (where he was wounded May 10, 1864), the Wilderness Campaign and the siege of Petersburg. He received an honorable discharge June 30, 1865. During his earlier years Mr. Kinter followed lumbering, which he resumed upon his return from the army, continuing thus until incapacitated from the effects of wound received in the service. He was a stanch Republican, and a Presbyterian in his religious convictions.
