General Notes: Husband - Capt. R. H. McCormick
He located in Cherry Tree, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, in 1848, first residing in that part of the borough taken from Cambria County. He erected a foundry, at that time the only one between Blairsville and Hollidaysburg. Soon after he started a tin shop, and was thereafter connected with that business.
He served in company D, 78th Pennsylvania volunteers, as first lieutenant and captain for three years. He was a Democratic member of the state house of representatives in the sessions of 1867 and '68
