General Notes: Husband - John Bennett

Of Scotch descent, he was reared in Pennsylvania and located in Lycoming County, where he owned and improved what became known as the level corner farm. He was extensively engaged in agricultural pursuits, also raising large quantities of fruit, and manufacturing cider in large quantities. He shipped this down the river to market, and before the canal was built he owned a fleet of keel-bottom boats, wherewith he transported his produce to market, and brought back goods to his home.
He was twice married.
