Ralph T. Bell
Ralph T. (Pete) Bell, 79, of Franklin RD 1 died at 10:10 pm Monday in Franklin Regional Medical Center.
Born October 19, 1904, at Knox, he was a son of the late Allison and Pearl Cerby Bell.
He married the former Mary E. Marterella, who survives, on June 2, 1950. His first wife, Pearl Bell Smedley, preceded him in death in January 1973.
Mr. Bell had worked for Socony Mobil Oil Co. for 42 years, retiring in 1959, and also was employed by Mooney Chemical for two years.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and served from May 20, 1944, to August 15, 1945, as a seaman.
Mr. Bell was active in the Rainbow Sportsmen's Club, serving as president, secretary, and a member of the board of directors.
He also was a member and served as treasurer of the Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, L. T. and Barry T. Bell of Franklin; two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Willavene) Dunkle and Mrs. Ben (Debbie) Brown of Franklin; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Also surviving are two brothers, Clinton Bell of Knox and Winn Bell of Anderson, Ind.; and four sisters, Mrs. Iva Mays of Cedar Park, Texas, Mrs. Ethel Johnson of Oil City, Mrs. Hazel Miller and Mrs. Dora Bell, both of Franklin.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by seven brothers.
Friends may call afer 2 pm today at the Robert W. Garthnier Funeral Home in Franklin. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today.
Funeral services will be conducted there at 11 am Thursday with Rev. Virgil Gricks officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.

Funeral services for Ralph T. "Pete" Bell, who died Monday at Franklin Regional Medical Center, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home.
The Rev. Virgil Gricks officiated, and during the services read the hymns "The Old Rugged Cross," "Jesus Loves Me," and the poem "Only a Dad," along with Psalm 23. Interment was at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Forest Witherup, Glenn W. Means, Joseph Hartle, William Kelly, George Wood and Frank G. Wright.?
Among those attending from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fajohn and sons, C. A. Bell, Mrs. Fred Sack, Mrs. Tony Andreassi, Mr. and Mrs. Pete DeMatteis, Dan Marterella, Don and Theresa Marterella and Mrs. Joseph Humphrey, all of Boyers; John Marterella, Emlenton; Bernice Miller, Knox; and Richard Marterella, with Bobby and Karen Marterella, all of Spanway, Wash.
Members of the Rainbow Sportsmen's Club, the Franklin Veterans of Foreign Wars and Auxiliary, and Polk Fire-Rescue Company all called at the funeral home in groups.

Mary E. Bell
Mrs. Mary E. Bell, 74, of Franklin RD 1, died at 12:48 am Tuesday in Franklin Re-gional Medical Center.
Born February 8, 1915, in Boyers, she was a daughter of the late Carmen and Delores Marterella.
She married Ralph P. Bell on June 4, 1950. He preceded her in death June 6, 1984.
Mrs. Bell was self-employed as a beautician for 34 years, operating her shop in Franklin for much of that time.
She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Franklin.
She is survived by three sons, Barry Bell of Franklin; Daniel (Richard) Marterella of Ta-coma, Wash., and Robert A. Marterella of New Mexico; a daughter, Mrs. Benjamin (Deb-orah) Brown of Franklin; and a sister, Mrs. Pete (Anna) Demattis of Boyers.
Survivors also include a step-son, Leonard T. Bell of Frank-lin; a step-daughter, Willavine Dunkle of Franklin; 13 grand-children; two great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and several step-great-grand-children.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers.
The Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home in Franklin is handling funeral arrangements.
