Norman L. Bell
Norman L. Bell, 73, of Seneca, was dead on arrival at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at the Oil City Area Health Center.
Born June 14, 1916, in Cranberry, he was a son of John W. and Florence E. Lusher Bell.
Mr. Bell was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy.
He was a member of the Fryburg Fox and Coon Club.
He was married in 1956 to Virginia A Schreffler, who survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Carl Bell who is in the military, Walter J. Bell and Michael Bell, both at home, Lawrence Bell of Franklin and Charlie Bell of Knox; six daughters, Florence A. Silvis and Michelle Bell, both of Oil City, Rhonda Bell at home, Brenda Flemming of Knox, Carol Bell of Parker and Sandra Bell of Seneca; and 14 grandchildren.
He also is survived by a brother, John Bell of Warren; and four sisters, Alice Kuhns of Franklin, Ruth Fischer and Dora Meehan, both of Seneca, and Lottie Stormer of Warren, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a son, Donald M. Bell; a daughter, Donna M. Bell; and six sisters, Dorothy Seyler, Edna Haniwalt, Leona Russell, Margaret Russell, Agnes Meehan and Inez Webber.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Morrison Funeral Home, Oil City.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. A. Pete Maihle, pastor of the Van United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in Melat Cemetery.
