He served in the Revolution July, 1778, in Third Batt'n Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, Associaters, Col. James Bell. Also private in 3rd. Batt'n 1781-82, Col. James Bell. (Col. Bell was his father-in-law.) Also probably in Frontier Rangers for a time.
