General Notes: Husband - Noah Berlin
He was brought up on the homestead, and attended the common schools. He was a farmer. September 20, 1854, he was commissioned as second lieutenant in the state militia company known as the Clarion Blues. He was a Democrat and served as school director. St. Paul's Lutheran church was his church, but his wife is a member of the Reformed church.
