Lincoln, IL

He was a native of Hopkinsville, Kentucky and moved to Illinois with his parents at the age of one. Among his offices and positions were: 1846 - 1848 School teacher, Christian County; 1849 - 1856 Clerk in Taylorville store; 1856 - 1858 Sullivan merchant; 1861 - 1865 Sullivan postmaster; 1869 - 1873 County coroner at Lincoln; 1873 - 1888 Town clerk at Lincoln. He was an elder in in the Presbyterian Church.
