The Wynne family has been traced back to the year 466, being descended from the ancient kings of Britain.

He came to Pennsylvania with William Penn in 1682 on the "Welcome." Dr. Wynne was the first practicing physician in Pennsylvania, and also was president of the First Pennsylvania Assembly.
