General Notes: Husband - William Monks

---

He served as an American soldier in the war of the Revolution. He and his wife were pioneers in what is now Clarion County, Pennsylvania, where they cleared and improved a farm near Curllsville on which they lived and died. They were farming people throughout their residence there.

Another source states that his residence was in Potter township, Centre County, Pennsylvania.
