Donald L. Bell
Donald L. Bell, 71, of Clintonville, a life-long resident of the area, died at 8:55 am Sunday in Orchard Manor at Grove City, where he had been admitted on February 19.
Born March 3, 1918, in Clinton Township, he was a son of Samuel L. and Mary V. Miller Bell. He attended Harmony Grove School in Clinton Township.
He was married on June 16, 1942, to the former Nellie M. Goettman, who survives.
Mr. Bell owned and operated a carpentry and masonry business, working in Venango and Butler counties for more than 30 years. He and his wife also were representatives of Rawleigh Home Products.
He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Grove City and belonged to the Men's Bible Class of the church.
Mr. Bell also served on the church board and was Sunday School superintendent for many years, and he regularly visited residents at nursing homes in Grove City and Harrisville during the past 17 years.
He enjoyed hunting.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Samuel A. Bell of Lisbon, Ohio, David L. Bell of Boyers RD 1 and Paul L. Bell of Oil City RD 2; two daughters, Mrs. David (Mary Ann) Melosh of Warren, R.I., and Mrs. Donald (Ruth Ellen) McKean of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Burton (Helen M.) Ekis of Sarasota, Fla., and Mrs. Joseph (Esther G.) Kelly of Harrisville RD 1; a brother, William M. Bell of Emlenton RD 2; 11 grandchidren and one great-grandchild.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were an infant son, John L. Bell, and a brother, Elmer D. Bell.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today in the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home in Clintonville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 pm Tuesday in the funeral home. Rev. Paul Crew, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene in Grove City, will officiate.
Interment will be in Clintonville Methodist Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Orchard Manor in Grove City or to the Church of the Nazarene in Grove City.

Nellie M. Bell
Mrs. Nellie M. Bell, 69, of Emlenton Street in Clintonville, formerly of Harrisville RD 1, died at 11 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6., 1994, at her home after a sudden illness.
Born Jan. 14, 1924, in Edgemont, S.D., she was the daughter of the late William and Anna Lindberg Goettman.
She married Donald L. Bell on June 16, 1942. He preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1990.
Mrs. Bell had been a housewife and mother and sold Rawleigh Home Products for 25 years.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Grove City for more than 47 years.
Mrs. Bell had taught Sunday School at the church for more than 40 years, was the acting secretary for the church board, and was missionary president for the church.
Mrs. Bell graduated from Clintonville High School and was active in the Clintonville Alumni Association, where she was a past president.
She was a member of the Harmony Grove Club, the senior citizens group at the Scrubgrass Grange, and the TOPS Club in Clintonville.
Mrs. Bell enjoyed crocheting, oil painting and plastic canvas needlework.
She is survived by five children, Samuel A. Bell of Yonkers N.Y., David L. Bell of Boyers RD 1, Paul L. Bell of Oil City RD 2, Mrs. David (Mary Ann) Melosh of Warren, R.I., and Mrs. Donald (Ruth Ellen) McKean of Phoenix, Ariz.
Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Fred (Rose) Serafine of Emlenton RD; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, John L. Bell.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 103 Emlenton St., Clintonville.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Rev. Raymond Schermerhorner, a retired minister of the Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. He will be assisted by Rev. Kenton Shaw of the Wayside Community Church in Grove City.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Church of the Nazarene at 520 North Center St., Grove City, Pa., 16127.
