Clinton A. Bell
Clinton A. Bell, 84, of Knox RD 2 (Elk City), a retired coal company employee, died at 4:15 pm Monday at Franklin Region­al Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born September 27, 1900, in Knox, he was the son of Allison A. and Pearl Zerby Bell.
Mr. Bell retired from the J. A. Mays Coal Company. Prior to that, he worked 21 years for the Edenburg Motor Co.
He was a life-long farmer, and in his later years he turned his efforts to gardening.
Mr. Bell was affiliated with the Providence United Methodist Church.
He married the former Ina Mays April 12, 1926, and she preceded him in death August 10, 1975.
Mr. Bell is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Everett (Bernice) Miller of Knox RD 1; a son, Ray Bell of Knox RD 2; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four sisters, Iva Mays of Houston, Tex.; Eth­el Johnson of Oil City, and Dora Bell and Hazel Miller, both of Franklin; a brother, Winfield Bell of Anderson, Ind.; and nu­merous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Bell was preceded in death by four brothers and one grandson.
Friends will be received at the William N. Rupert Mortuary in Knox, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday.
Services will be held at 11 am Thursday in the funeral home with Rev. William Smith offici­ating.
Interment will follow in the Providence United Methodist Church cemetery.
