FRANKLIN — Charles Oakley Bell, 80, of 1187 Otter St., retired automobile mechanic, died at 4:15 am Sunday in Franklin Hospital, where he had been a patient since June 14.
A son of A. Plumer and Ida M. Hefferman Bell, he was born in Cochranton December 20, 1895.
He worked as an auto mechanic for Frank H. Williams before opening a business of his own on Grant Street. He retired in 1969.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Loyal Order of Moose in Franklin and the Legion of the Moose.
He was married September 2, 1924, to the former Florence M. Moore, who survives along with a sister, Mrs. Hazel Russell of Hagerman, Idaho, and several nieces and nephews.
A sister, I. Rita Bell, is deceased; also four brothers, Joseph C. ( Hap), Wilton, Floyd F. and Harley Bell.

FRANKLIN — Mrs. Florence Moore Bell, 82, of Franklin RD 3 died at 11:55 am Wednesday in Venango Manor.
She was a former resident of 1187 Otter St., Franklin, and the widow of Charles Oakley Bell.
She was born July 13, 1895, in Franklin, a daughter of George E. and Laura Condit Moore.
A lifelong resident of Franklin, she attended the public schools of the city. She married Charles Oakley Bell September 2, 1924, and he died June 27, 1976.
Mrs. Bell was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Franklin Chapter of the Women of the Moose, and the Ladies Auxillary of the Franklin Aerie, F.O. Eagles.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Lois M. Vensel, and one brother, Melvin M. Moore.
Friends may call any time after noon today at the Frank S. Huff Chapel in Franklin where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday in the funeral home. Rev. Herbert M. Pennington, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Franklin, will officiate. Interment will be in Sandy Cemetery.
