During the pioneer period Mrs. Anna Karns, widow of Henry Karns, came to Venango County, Pennsylvania, with a family of nine sons and one daughter, making her home in Richland Township. [HVC 1919, 833]

Buried in the Old Franklin Cemetery: Anna Karns, died Dec. 23, 1873, aged 90 years, 5 months. [HVC 1879, 457]
