Wade Bell
Wade H. Bell, 88, formerly of Kennerdell RD 1, died in Grandview Health Care Center at 8:40 am Friday.
Born on October 24, 1893, in Rockland Township, he was the son of John Barnett and Zulma Theresa Mays Bell.
For many years, he operated the Wade H. Bell General Store in Rockland and was postmaster in that community.
On December 23, 1916, he married the former Hazel Linn. The couple observed their 65th wedding anniversary last year.
Mr. Bell was a life-long resident of the county.
He was a member of Myrtle Lodge 316, F.& A.M., Valley of Oil City Lodge of Perfection, and the New Castle Consistory.
Mr. Bell was also a member of Rockland United Methodist Church.
His hobbies included knife making and gardening.
Surviving along with his wife are: four daughters, Mrs. Olan (Bonnie) Flickner of Oil City, Mrs. Robert (Colleen) MacArthur of Meadville, and Mrs. Kathleen Cope and Mrs. Richard (Carolyn) Clark, both of Franklin.
Nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Bell was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Joseph Bell; three sisters, Hertha Allen, Daisy Ross, and Cleanthis Bowman; and an infant grandson.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm today at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home in Franklin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Sunday in the funeral home with Rev. Edward Patterson, pastor of Rockland United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Rockland cemetery.

Wade H. Bell, 88, formerly of Kennerdell RD 1, died in Grandview Health Care Center at 8:40 a.m. today.

Funeral services for Wade H. Bell, formerly of Kennerdell, what died in the Grandview Health Care Center Friday, were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home.
The Rev. Edward Patterson of the Rockland United Methodist Church officiated and during the services Psalms 27 and 90 and the hymns "Some Day He'll Make it Plain," "I Come to the Garden Alone," "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere."
Interment was made at Rockland Cemetery.
Attending the services from a distance were: Mrs. Jennie Linn of Pittsburgh; Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Bowman of Canton, Ohio; James Bell of Erie; Miss Magie Smith and Mrs. Leslie Yarger of Bellone; the Rev. and Mrs. Dale Shunk of Sandy Lake.
Masonic services were held Saturday with Gary T. Weaver, worshipful master; Harry A. Nosker, senior warden; Calvin H. Gilmore, junior warden; Homer M. Stalker, secretary; M. Everett Collins, chaplain.

Hazel Marie Bell, 88, formerly of Kennerdell RD 1, died at 6:05 pm Tuesday at Grandview Health Care in Oil City.
Born March 21, 1896, in Naylor, Mo., she was a daughter of the late Rev. William B. and Etta Smith Linn.
She married Wade H. Bell on December 23, 1916. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1982.
Mrs. Bell was a housewife and had lived most of her life in the Rockland area.
She was a member of Rockland United Methodist Church, the Ladies Bible Class, and the Women's Missionary Society.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Olen (Bonnie) Flickner of Oil City, Mrs. Robert (Colleen) MacArthur of Meadville, Mrs. Kathleen Cope of Franklin, and Mrs. Richard (Carolyn) Clark of Franklin; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter and Harold Linn, a twin brother, Herbert Linn, and an infant grandson.
Friends may call after 7 pm today at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home in Franklin. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Thursday.
Funeral services will be conducted there at 1 pm Friday.
Interment will follow in Rockland Cemetery.

Funeral services for Hazel Marie Bell, a former resident of Kennerdell RD 1, who died Tuesday in the Oil City Grandview Health Care Center, were held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home.
The Rev. Jack Reaugh and the Rev. Richard Burns officiated and during the services read: Psalms 23 and assorted scripture. Also heard were the hymns "Each Step I Take," "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow" and "Beyond the Sunset."
Serving as pallbearers were: Mark Clark, Kevin Garmong, Vic Garmong, Jeff Potter, Paul Richey and Rudy Herr.
Interment was in Rockland Cemetery.
Attending the services from a distance were: Beth and Samilja Proper of Bloomsburg; Mr. and Mrs. Robert MacArthur, Kathleen MacArthur and Mr. and Mrs. H. K.
