He passed all his life in Mahoning township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, dying there. He owned two hundred acres of valuable land, and engaged in general farming. Mr. Doverspike was a mem­ber of the Lutheran Church, in which he held office, and politically was a Democrat.
