General Notes: Husband - James Morrison Wright
He engaged in farming until his twenty-second year. After marriage he drove a huckster's wagon from Butler, Pennsylvania, to Pittsburgh. In 1862 he enlisted in the Second U. S. Cavalry, serving two years and ten months. Captured while on a scouting expedition, he was taken to Andersonville prison. When captured he weighed one hundred and ninety pounds and when he was paroled, six months later, weighed only ninety pounds. He received a thirty days' furlough to come home and then returned and served until the end of the war, but never regained his health.
