He was a graduate of Lafayette College, after which he taught in the old Seminary at Greensburg, Pennsylvania; was principal of the school at Coalport; taught in the High School at Johnstown; the High School at Greensburg; and was instructor in ancient languages in the Wilkinsburg High School.
