General Notes: Husband - John Witherup
His early life was spent on the farm, and he afterward burned charcoal for the furnaces. After his father moved to the creek he became interested in lumbering and boatbuilding, and after the boat business was given up turned his energies to agriculture, owning a large farm in Scrubgrass township, Venango County, Pennsylvania, but he was not especially successful in his business ventures. He made his home with his sister Ann. [HVC 1919, 1067]
