The Triece family is an old one in Pennsylvania and has given a number of prominent men to the State.

Originally of Somerset County, Pennsylvania, and later of Blairsville, Indiana County, where he was engaged as a millwright and contractor. Milling was his specialty, he owning and operating a flouring mill for many years.
