General Notes: Husband - Rev. John Wright
When he and his wife settled in Iowa their nearest neighbors were two miles distant, but they were ambitious and industrious and willing to make their way in the face of hardships. In 1867 they came east, locating at Diamond, Venango County, Pennsylvania, whither they had been attracted by the oil finds, and he did very well for a time as an oil producer at Petroleum Center. By occupation he was a sawyer, and he subsequently operated a sawmill at Diamond, where he spent the rest of his life, dying on a farm there at the age of eighty-three years.
He became well known all over Venango County through his activities as a minister of the United Brethren Church, of which he was a minister, receiving ordination in the United States. He began preaching even before he was of age, and even in his advanced years continued to serve as a local preacher, supplying many pulpits.
General Notes: Wife - Mary Ann Wild
She died at the age of fifty-seven years, the mother of twelve children, eleven of whom reached maturity, ten still surviving in 1918. Four of the family resided in Venango County, Pennsylvania.
