He passed the most of his life in Venango County, Pennsylvania, where he was born and reared. Early in life he engaged in the furnace and mer-cantile business and afterward in farming. Later he resided in Franklin and with his son, Walter L., and was engaged in oil producing. [HVC 1890, 1030]
