General Notes: Husband - John R. Bell
He was a pedagogue for a number of years; he was also for years a justice of the peace in Donegal township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. In 1879 he was elected clerk of the courts of Westmoreland County by the Democratic party, which position he filled for three years. After 1883 he began living a retired life, but always took an earnest, active part in behalf of the members and principles of the Democratic party.
He had three children with his second wife; only one was still living in 1890.
