General Notes: Husband - John B. Weaver
He was educated in the common school of Hopewell township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, and acquired a fairly good education. He spent his entire life on the family homestead. His father died when he was twelve years of age, and as the eldest son, he was obliged very early to work for the support of his mother and the family, cultivating the 130 acres on which they had their home.
He was on the school board for fifteen years, and was at different times elected supervisor, assessor and tax collector. Politicly, he was of the "free silver" party. He was a member of the Reformed church.
