General Notes: Husband - William Beck

This family is one of the oldest in Westmoreland County, if not in western Pennsylvania. It is of German origin, the exact period of its emigration being uncertain.

He was an early settler of the vicinity of the county seat of Indiana County, Pennsylvania.

He was a soldier in the war of the revolution. He obtained a soldier's warrant for four hundred and twenty-six acres of land near the present site of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, which he took up in company with a colony of settlers.
