General Notes: Husband - Willard R. Beck
He was born in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, and as early as his eighth year began to work for neighboring farmers. At the age of eighteen he entered the mills of the Apollo Iron & Steel Company, serving in the capacity of laborer. Later he was advanced to the steamfitting department, where he worked for four years, and was then transferred to the sheet mills. Thenceforth he was promoted successively to the position of matcher, doubler, catcher and rougher. In the spring of 1897 he was transferred to the Vandergrift mills, and in 1901 was made roller. Politically he was a Democrat. He and his wife were members of the Presbyterian church.
