KNOX — Carrie I. Bell, 90, of Knox RD 1 (Nineveh), a former school teacher, died at 5:30 pm Saturday in Franklin Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born July 21, 1887 in Nineveh, a daughter of Daniel L. and Mariah Crosby Weaver.
She was married to Frank Bell on June 14, 1912. He preceded her in death in 1959.
She was a life-long member of the Grace Evangelical Congregational Church in Nineveh, where she was a member of the church Ladies Aid Society and Missionary Society. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years.
Mrs. Bell was a graduate of Clarion Normal School, now Clarion State College. She taught school in Ashland Township for a number of years.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Cotherman of Nineveh, with whom she lived, Mrs. Edward (Kathryn) Reighard of Clearfield, and Mrs. Eleanor Beck of Nineveh; one son, F. Dean Bell of Franklin RD 4; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Merle (Sarah) Kline of Ridgway; a brother, Carroll Weaver of Nineveh; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter and three brothers.
Friends will be received in the William N. Rupert Funeral Home in Knox from 2-4 and 7-9 pm today and until noon Tuesday.
Removal will be made then Grace E. C. Church in Nineveh, where services will be held at 1:30 Tuesday. Rev. Maurice Friedlund, church pastor, will officiate.
Interment will be in Starr Cemetery in Knox RD 1.
