Eugene W. Bell
Eugene W. Bell, 86, of Culberson Road, Knox, died at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 1994, at his residence.
Born July 22, 1908, in Shippenville, he was a son of the late Obert and Rose Anna Hartzell Bell.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Bell was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Army.
He first worked as a coal miner and later was employed by J. A. Jones Construction Co. and Bracken Construction Co. of Sligo.
Mr. Bell enjoyed hunting.
He was a Protestant.
Mr. Bell was married Aug. 12, 1931, to the former Twila V. Hartzell, who survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Gladys Cooper of Shawnee, Okla., Mrs. Paul (Connie) Snyder of Charlotte, N.C., Esther Thompson of Knox RD 2 and Mrs. Ronald (Jean) Strotman of Ridgely, Md.; two sons, Eugene W. Bell Jr. of Knox RD 2 and Samuel A. Bell of Knox RD 1; 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Myrtle Blair, Sena Oiler, Maude Deloe, Myrna Bell and Margaret Bell; three brothers, Nelson Bell, James Bell and Robert Bell; and a grandson, Jay Bell.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the David C. McEntire Funeral Home in Knox.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Rev. Rip Wright, pastor of Faith Church of the Nazarene at Kossuth, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Mark Cemetey near Kossuth.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Clarion-Forest VNA and Specialty Care.

Twila V. Bell
Twila V. Bell, 83, of Culberson Road, Knox, died at 2:30 a.m. Monday, March 24, 1997, at her residence.
Born March 31, 1913, in Buckhorn, Clarion County, she was a daughter of Jacob and Jenny Myers Hartzell.
Mrs. Bell was very active in the Faith Church of the Nazarene in Kossuth, where she had been a member for more than 50 years. During that time, she served as president of the Missionary Society and was a Sunday School teacher.
She was a homemaker, was devoted to her family and enjoyed visiting with her friends.
Mrs. Bell was married Aug. 12, 1931, to Eugene W. Bell Sr., who died Dec. 12, 1994.
Surviving are four daughters, Gladys Cooper of Shawnee, Okla., Mrs. Paul (Connie) Snyder of Charlotte, N.C., Esther Thompson of Knox RD 2 and Mrs. Ronald (Jean) Strotman of Ridgely, Md.; a son, Eugene W. Bell Jr. of Knox RD 2; 19 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by four brothers, Merle R. "Red" Hartzell and Wilfred "Mex" Hartzell, both of Shippenville RD 2, George E. "Pappy" Hartzell of Pittsburgh and Ivan Hartzell of Buffalo, N.Y.; two sisters, Kathleen Fox of Venus RD 1 and Eva Shaffer of Millheim; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by a son, Samuel A. Bell, Oct. 6, 1996; a brother, Ross Hartzell; a sister, Berniece Paine; a grandson, Jay Bell; and a great-grandson, Donald Williams.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the David C. McEntire Funeral Home, Knox.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Rip Wright, pastor of the Faith Church of the Nazarene at Kossuth, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mark Cemetery near Kossuth.
