General Notes: Husband - John White


He was born in France and served fourteen years in the navy of Napoleon I, being a prisoner of war over four years. He was once shipwrecked off the coast of Virginia, and swam to the shore of Norfolk, a distance of four miles. In company with John North, he migrated from Delaware to Indiana County, Pennsylvania, locating in what became North Mahoning township in 1818. Mr. White's location was on the farm later occupied by Anderson White, North Mahoning township.
