General Notes: Husband - James Vance
He was one of the early settlers on the Slippery Rock, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
He had six children with each of his two wives.
He was born in what is now Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, and was well known as a farmer and large land owner. He died rather young, and very suddenly, and his widow never remarried. He and his family were members of the Seceders' Church. [GPHBC, 547]
James and Anna Vance were the first settlers on the old Vance homestead in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, where they located about 1790, when the land was still wild and uncleared. [TCHNCLC, 926]
